K-pop megastar Jin, a member of the popular boy band BTS, has been discharged from his mandatory military service in South Korea. The news was confirmed by his agency, Big Hit Music, on June 12, 2024, at 11:58 AM KST.

Jin, whose full name is Kim Seokjin, enlisted in the military on December 13, 2022, as part of his mandatory two-year service. He served as an active-duty soldier in the Fifth Infantry Division in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province.

The discharge of Jin marks a significant moment for BTS, as he is the first member of the group to complete his military service. The other members of BTS are expected to enlist and serve in the military in the coming years.
